Work Paid Off on Date Night

I had the most amazing date night with Cody on Tuesday; we went to a Jets game. I’ve always loved watching hockey, but I never really followed a team until Cody came along. The day I signed our marriage license was the day I signed up to be a Jets fan.

My sister in law and brother in law watched W while we went. As we left their house pure excitement engulfed me. I was so excited to go to the game and spend time with my husband.

We watched the first period, then ventured out into the crowd during intermission. The concourse was packed shoulder to shoulder with people. I bought a new hat, and we made our way back to our seats.

As I sat there during the second period, I noticed something. Peace. Calmness. Not in the crowd (obviously), but internally. I was sitting in a stadium with 15 thousand other people, I had just walked shoulder to shoulder through a crowd, and I wasn’t anxious.

I’ve been to Jets games, concerts, places with tons of people but this was the first time in a long time I wasn’t anxious. It was the first time I saw a distinct change in myself and that my hard work has been paying off.

All of the time I’ve spent meditating, using breathing techniques, listening to hypnosis recordings was worth it. I felt and saw a life without anxiety. A high I will be chasing and working towards to feel everyday.

Somedays the work didn’t feel worth it, but those few hours showed me how worth it it really is.

Be kind and eat beef.
